Re: the chances of snowfall, I think it is fair to say the chances are quite high but the timing of the passage of the low will be key.

As I said on my post analysing yesterdays output, the period from the 12th right through to the 15th is more of interest in my opinion. friends.gif

Oh yes, and those outside broadcasts where the roads are impassable but they managed to get a reporter and camera man though !

I'm going to use a really technical term to describe the weather outside at the moment. It's "pants". Grey old mess been drizzly this morning and a tad colder.

Ewww, grey pants - nothing worse!!!

Thought it would be more busy in here, just tried making sense of the mod thread, now need a lie down fool.gif

We all had our hearts broken in December, so we're holding out until we know there's actual cold coming.

..I have a 70% chance of snow sat/sun but I don't really follow it..

My 90% chance has moved from Saturday to Sunday, but I'm happy with that..it's only gone back 24 hrs and not 7 days and it will give the cold chance to get here first good.gif

I'm hoping that convection kicks up some showers on Sunday for Norfolk as at the moment we look in no mans land according to the most recent precip charts.

However I find they are rarely accurate at this range so I have everything crossed that we get a drop of the white stuff.

We've had almost completely sunny skies here for the last couple of hours.cool.png I'm pretty sure it was supposed to be dull and drizzly all day from the BBC forecast yesterday.

I wonder if the site will crash again when the 12zs run comes out. Particulalry tonights ECM when everyone is home from work.

If it's another stella run I reckon we may not be far off the record numbers ever on this forum.

Will the servers cope?

Back to earth with a bump then today but it is FI so all to play for.

Interestingly the GFS runs yesterday showed rain for us on the first 2 on Saturday and snow on the second 2 so you never know ;-)

I am sure as a grown up I shouldn't be this excited/nervous about a weather model computer prediction.

Well I'm not a gown up but I certainly am expectant of something useful!

BBC weather have updated their forecasts to show snow for Buntingford on saturday, I'm sure other areas will follow suit.

I think we're almost certainly going to see some snow on Saturday as the front clears Southwards allowing colder air to dig in. NAE seems to bring the colder air in faster than the GFS, so we could even see an all snow event if that proves to be right

I think you're on to something there :good: I'll be happier when the Extra NMM charts come into range (+48 hours) as the higher resolution should start firming it all up.
