There's been quite a bit of intensification on the radar, especially west of manchester, mostly south of my location in Bolton.

It ran off towards Manchester. Don't worry though here too, we just saw a mix of rain, sleet and snow. Mostly sleet.

Moderate snow now, heaviest it's been all evening. The patchy cover is starting to fill in and if it can carry on like this for the next hour I might just be able to scrape a few snowballs together!

Very light snow here at the moment being blown by quite a fresh breeze. Still 1.0°C

Slight accumulation on grass and car roof. Cannot believe heavy snow in Leyland its currently not doing anything here. Looks like the Preston snowdome is out for another winter.

What might be more of a concern is that after this band clears tonight whether it brings lying snow or not, the temperatures are going to drop once the skyes clear. I suspect there'll be quite a risk of ice even where snow has not stuck, and subsequently a risk of freezing rain when the second front arrives in the early morning.
