Snow showers coming in from the NE can see them disappearing on the screen and out me window

Only to see them pep up again below me

Explains it all high up on moors lol. We're at 150m but sunny and 1c! Too high temp reckon it will level at 2c which will thaw snow cover . Hope something special happens this weekend

Snowing lightly again, although good sized flakes. May get something from that heavier band but not much. Still can't complain as still got 5cm on the grass, and 3-4cm on other surfaces (bar paths and road ~1cm). Can't tell if there is a thaw going on, if so its very slow. Either way should last and provide a nice base for Fridays possible event (and weekend thereafter?)

just started snowing in Strenny. That's a 21 minute lag time from Vizzy in Malton. Will that be it for today?

Yep they said sub zero away from twns but that is incorrect as its 1.1c here now. The half decent covering thawing now!!

A bit of thawing here, particularly on the roof tops and on concrete surfaces, although grassy surfaces still have upwards of 90% snow cover. I can see the line of snow showers approaching from the NE although they appear to be losing some intensity.

Snow shower here, though not settling as it is fairly light and the air temp is fairly stable at 1.3C.

Yellow warning issued for SW third of UK for blizzards and upto 15cms locally. Rarely you see such words on the metoffice, but they are clearly concerned. As yet, nothing for Yorkshire, it all depends if the front moves across or not. If it does, we could get 10cms perhaps. Worth watching.

I'd say the ground is less than 50% covered in snow now. Definitely a very messy picture out there today, can't wait for a top up (or a thaw if necessary..).

Well I would definitely take the latest gfs run. Yorkshire would have mega snow!! Temp at 1.2c now.
