Not sure mate, seems to be petering out slightly. Look at all that shower activity out to sea!

Light to moderate snow in York. With the help of the overnight frost it's given us a dusting.

The local weather forecast this morning was certainly more bullish about snow showers than they were yesterday for today - seems they're satisfied that the easterly flow will be more sustained today than they thought yesterday.

Another 1cm of snow over the Lincs Wolds overnight, and it was very tricky driving over them to get to work today. further snow showers forecast could make the commute home tonight even more of a challenge than last night.

Half an eye on the various model outputs for the weekend too - where that low goes and how deep it gets has major implications.

Heavy snow shower now in York providing a decent covering. Better than we did yesterday in fact!

Light snow falling in huddersfield now, giving a covering to roads!! Radar looks like pulling a fair few more showers in as it stands. Liking the blob over York at the moment.

The blob over York is being very kind to us! It's fairly heavy, giving a decent covering.

Live in Wombwell in Barnsley. After yesterdays non event its snowing again abeit lightly. Lokking at rain today area of light snow just show up over South Yorkshire out of nowhere. Wonder if it will intensify. Also the band just to the east of us is moving ever closer. The only time we get the snow is when it is NOT FORCAST. Gota laugh

Had a light show shower which was quite surprising! Maybe more to come according to the radar. as Craigers pointed out earlier in the thread, later this weekend is looking interesting for possible snow events as the Atlantic tries to attack

It wasn't exactly a non event was it? We were never expected to get the totals those further east got. I suspect the amber warning we had was just to cover the MO's backside.

The North Sea convection has been reaching here from time to time since 6am, recently had a moderate snow shower with snow cover up at around 2-3cm on grassy surfaces, but just a centimetre on the concrete.

This also shown by the ECM. Be interesting to see if Fridays band reaches us, i would hazard a guess that it may do, but it would struggle. Longer term the ECM is very good for our region, with a number of heavy snow events. GFS would be much more marginal past the weekend.
