Ooh! It's really snowing now. (For fellow Ipswich folk I'm near the docks near the big storage place and the river.) don't know whether that's east, west, north or south Ippy. :o

Yep West Ipswich getting a nice coating on everything now, temp and dew point both dropping.

It's got here now and is coming down quite hard; settling a bit too! smile.png

Yey!

Looking forward to walking the hound later. Settling here now too and is heavy again.

I was really pleased with myself earlier after having posted in the MO thread last night saying that this area would be upgraded to amber. Bloody hell level 4 must be really scary! meh.

Hopecasting for something later. Oh and while I am moaning how can stuff be melting! I thought it was cold....

Looks like the wraparound is starting to appear near Newcastle upon tyne. The PPN on the western flank is starting to move in a S/SW direction.

Yep, raining here too...

Whereabouts are you - I'm in Mulbarton and it's snowing here - nearly an inch on the ground replacing the overnight dusting which had largely thawed during the morning when we had sun.

Just biked home from work and after todays snow we have a fairly rapid frost setting in. Must have been a bit marginal today considering how heavy the snow fell we have about 3 cm.

I expect to wake up to a slight to moderate cover of snow where I live, in the morning. :) I'll just have to wait and see - I certainly won't be waiting until the early hours especially for the purpose. biggrin.png

But after this week I've got absolutely no idea what to expect; whether it'll be cool and very unsettled, like the latest GFS op run suggests, or whether the block can hold, or if the stratosphere will show its hand and give a fillip to another cold shot later on.

It strikes me as being a total nightmare time to forecast anything more than a very few days ahead. :(

The snow was just starting to settle as I left Colchester at 4.40. Got home to find a dusting of snow on the verges, and a little starting to lay on the road.

Now -0.3C here and dropping very slowly. Snowing heavily and settling on cars and grass and a little on concrete. Will need to keep this up for a while to get a covering, but looks like the band may pass very soon.....hoping the wrap around happens, if not some heavy showers.

I see the MetOffice warnings for heavy showers has disappeared for the rest of the week :(

Wraparound has begun with precipitation off the north east warping around the low, the central low is that group of showers in the midlands i believe

Whats the chances of the wraparound snow affecting south Cambridgeshire/North essex border tonight. Thankscto anyone who applies.

Well the latest BBC forecast thinks so.

I suggest everyone watches the TV forecast on BBC1 @6:25pm (if your able to)

Hopefully Matt Taylor will explain where the wrap around will go as he did earlier on news24.

Hopefully it's coming our way now, just rain here in Kesgrave!

Looks like the wraparound is the best chance here now, but not very hopeful any more....... :(

Chalk I am in Kesgrave! Hello fellow Keagravian!!

Those of you asking about the wrap-around:

http://www.raintoday.co.uk

Look up to the NE of England, its happening now

Interest for me is potential intensification as it moves through into the wash - no guarantees, just a theory!

Whole lot will sink south, should head to this region (assuming it doesn't fizzle out or change track) around midnight

SK
