folks, mark and Ian are being way too cautious. Proven by history we will get snow in such scenarios. significant amounts? maybe not bu who knows.

it's always about now casting. But i do feel for those in the east midlands such as Leicester, notts etc who are in the yellow zone. They things are panning out anything above 2 or 3 cm is a bonus!

Something may be on the cards sooner than everyone first thought!

It's snowing lightly here and also reports of snow in Nottingham. The radar shows PPN that is building around the Midlands area, almost of out no where. Multi Cellular Thunderstorm just posted this in the East Midlands thread:

It's expanding west now towards Nottingham.

Met Office have updated their symbols...

http://www.metoffice...am#?tab=fiveDay

Changed to heavy snow at 18:00

This could be a nice surprise!

Tommorrow is going to be a very frustrating day. Last week we were MARGINALLY too far west, tommorrow too far east. I expect a few light flurries based on experience.

All this from 10-15CM 36 hours ago.

We'l never get a sweet spot.

The latest BBC TV forecasts and the UKMO site warnings suggest we will all see snow tomorrow and don`t forget it will still be around Saturday either as a weakening area or showers for some further east.

Click on both days to get the total picture.

Countrywide-much of England,Wales.N.Ireland and parts of S.Scotland look likely to get some.

ISAAC, do you remember 13th Jan 2010? was a similar setup, although I dont think block was as strong, allowing the front to come further East, I got 8cms that day, the synoptic setup looks very similar

Im actually laughing at the negativity in here now. YOU ALL WILL HAVE SNOW.

I've been around a long time and seen many of these situations - they ALWAYS trend South in these marginal situations.

Does it look like game over then for us. I thought the whole of the midlands was meant to get snow?. Some places 20 cms but the rest to get 10cms . What has gone wrong in the last few hours ?.

Nothing. Relax.

Snowfall pretty much nailed on for all south of Central Yorks - even if it will be light and patchy for some areas.

I admire your confidence but the BBC/MetO don't seem to share your view just yet. good.gif
