Listen mate i am from your neck of the woods - Morden & i am disappointed to say the least.

That man is on a complete windup and has been predicting 6 inches from last night and today and we know how that went dont we...

Where i am only stating facts & backing it up with the data available to help those who dont have a clue but want to know if it will snow which is understandable.

I know who's point i would listen to..

yeahhh i thoart that be a wind up ,was looking around the charts think no not sure about 6 inches .thank you for your point man

As I see it.

Ppn falling back in a SSW direction now.

Ppn entering Essex after midnight and London, Kent, Sussex perhaps Surrey a bit later.

Should be snow for most. Perhaps a bit of a wintry mix nearer windward coastal districts.

Heaviest ppn between 2-4am. Clearing up after with rapid temp drop and ice a concern.

Lucky spots under the heavy stuff and where it sticks may get 2-3cm.

Everyone else trace amounts.

Thats my view. Sorry if you dont agree.

For those worrying about wind direction

This is a frontal system associated with an area of low pressure, the low pressure is adding forcing on the PPN pushing it SSW as it pivots round, rotating slightly as it does so. Wind direction is more important when looking at showers developing, rather than a frontal system.

I think 1-5cm is a pretty good estimate for most of our region.

Thanks. The radar seems to bear you out at 2215 Daniel. Keen to see the 2230 returns as they should tell us more.

I think that forecast is about right. It will be a but random re: amounts. Generally better the further east you are although the band is varying in intensity throughout and some to the west may get lucky.

A very decent assessment. At least the hard bit is now over, we've got the cold here and by the looks of things it's not going anywhere fast!

More than welcome mate.

It just gripes me when those who are forecasting snowmageddon and are way off the mark. Fair enough if previous charts was showing this but when it does not its a pretty dumb and stupid statement to make. which leads to those less knowledgeable about the weather totally confused and leads to disappointment and bickering.

Ok, probably wrng, I think the first one confirms that the low does pivot and gives snow to places in the south east over night, also there is a trough just abouve east angler that may cause showers to track down the east of england as it tracks south.

As John has kindly posted. The latest fax charts show a trough swinging through tomorrow afternoon/eve. So if we get nowt tonight, theres something to look out for later tomorrow.
