I will keep pace with the charts today, but to be honest we know snow is coming, it's just a matter of how much and how deep. Here's the best thing you can use from tomorrow onwards:

If the front does fizzle out before it gets here, maybe the low that forms over Spain will give us another shot? Sets up a period of Easterly/North Easterly winds for Saturday & Sunday...

Temp still falling in sunny Dartford now

Temp -5.9c

Dew point -6.6

Wind chill -5.9 wish I could find the instruction manual so I could turn the bloody alarm off, good idea when I set it, not at 5am.

Hopefully I will get some work done today at home and not spend all my time on this site? As I know I will be radar watching tomorrow like the big 6 year old I think I am when snow is forecast, as opposed to the old git of 60 which my bones are now telling me I am :-)

Could someone help me as I'm not sure if Matt Hugo is saying the front will be further west now,

Does these mean he thinks it will mayby not affect us much now of is Matt on about more NW may miss out.. Sorry just trying to understand as everyone says we have an upgrade now for tomorrow .. Many thanks :)

Matt Hugo

"Just to help clear things up...

The 00Z FAX for midday on Friday shows why things have and will change;

http://www.wetterzen...ics/brack0a.gif

The occlusion, somewhat frustratingly to say the least, develops a low pressure along it now initially in the Irish Sea before moving into Ireland. This, without question, holds the front further west and keeps NW Eng and the Midlands out of the firing line, particularly compared with previous forecasts. Parts of the south may see an increase but I think the biggest change will be to Ireland, especially N Ireland which could see the bulk of the snow from this event now after clearly likely not having very much.

Granted I don't have access to the UKMO UKV and the likes, but I still have other, higher resolution models from work which aren't available for public use and combining all the high resolution models I have here, then the forecasts for NW Eng from the MO look odd now, without question. I would say at most NW Eng look like getting 2cm to 5cm and similar for the Midlands, perhaps locally 10cm at very most.

Matt."

We are now within a 24hr period now.. This time tomorrow we should be seeing the front over Wales... Changes can still happen but I doubt very big changes will happen.. Snow is on the cards now I expect the models to firm up on it today so sit tight.

Could be an interesting day at work in Bracknell tomorrow :-)

Once again it's disappointment no?

Ramps of chaos- few hours later clear it won't reach us

Fallen out of love with it all now

I don't care about chances of fronts from France afterWards

It just creates more chance for more disappointment

Rant not ramp over

The forecast on BBC breakfast just now just showed that the front WILL NOT reach the south east at all. All fizzled out before it gets 1/2 was spy across the country.

I really hope that is not correct. :(

Well this has thrown my travel into more chaos, and looking around here we might get a snow event on Sunday which would leave me stranded! Disappointed about tomorrow, travel or not I do love a snow event!

I know how you feel, we missed out at the weekend, then again on Monday , Tuesday and Wednesday looked promising but nothing so I understand how you are feeling. I'm hoping that from tomorrow though are luck will change. Fingers Crossed. :)

Haven't seen the BBC forecasts this morning but I do often find them frustratingly at odds with the MetO detailed forecasts which are updated hourly and presumably should be a reasonable representation of what's to be expected..they show no such thing at the moment!
