Strange

Still

-2.6c Temp

-7.1 Dewp

But I do see some cloud coming in from the North Sea up the estuary at the moment, everything clear to the west with the crescent moon and can then see the stationery weather front about 35 miles to my west which would place it just west of London.

Yep. Confirm cloud cover growing at this end. Up to -1.9/-6.3 now. Wind picking up from the ESE.

The most recent MO forecast said the snow for the east/south east will be dry snow! Not good for making snow balls...

I'm sure that's "the wrong kind of snow" for the rail networks as well!

But good for skiing blum.gif

It will mean that less moisture is needed to make large snowfall totals as dry snow is less dense.

Am I right in thinking there will be no snow on the roads during rush hour tomorrow morning then? I am wondering whether to make school packed lunches or not!

WHY CAN'T WE HAVE THIS FORECASTER - https://www.facebook...&type=2

Instead we get woman who wants to be models as forecasters or (if this doesn't say cockroft when referring to a bbc forecaster, I have maturity issues) Cockroft who loves bad forecasts and rain

You really can't argue with a forecast like that. Not too "dumbed down", decent use of vocab, and explains well whats going on.

Should DEF be a national forecaster!

Interesting contrasts between right by the sea and five miles inland, 4C in Shoreham by the beach, 3C here about 3/4 mile inland and 2C in Lewes area.

Seems the precip up off the coast of Suffolk is expanding and now making landfall in north Essex! Could this bring interest later?

Will that front to the West reach me, NW London? If it ever starts to move East, that is.

It's stalled over the Chilterns mate - you might sneak a bit but, to be honest, i don't think it's particularly pokey anyway

Mentioned this earlier in the thread.

Going to be a very long weekend for those in authority. The first big test for those who are struggling to pay for their heating bills and how the authorities are going to deal with the bad weather and the inevitable tumble (I know) in temperatures.

Perhaps the government will suggest everyone eats a nice hot pasty? :-)
