Ok, so tomorrow we kinda know about. Without wishing to sound greedy but what's the latest for saturday and Sunday? Everyone seems to be concentrating on tomorrow's action and I wondered whether there is any additional snow potential for later in the weekend?

Righty, need to represent the east sussex contingent not on the coast. Here in Burwash temp -2.3 dp is -8. Its clear with some high think cloud to the west (obscuring the bright Moon). Very nice.

Gritters went through about 730.

Got logs in, got snow chains for the land rover ( like i would need them!), tesco has just delivered and i have the outside light on.

LETS DO THIS!

J.

Wowzers this easterly or south easterly flow is really making its presence felt now here at the end of the estuary

Temp -2.6c

Dewp - 7.2c

Winds 1mph ESE

As Shrimper says its starting

Starting to see it further 'upstream' in Essex. Temp just dropped from -0.2 to -1.2 in 30 minutes ohmy.png

posted by ian in sw thread good news if on the coast! :

'Strong signal for snow inland on IOW in UKMO UKV & UK4 modelling. Basically, increasingly marginal for coastal snow as you head further W towards Portland, Lyme Bay etc and less marginal as you head further E where sea track reduces and thus degree of boundary layer modification from continental feed. Hope this helps clarify!'

Temperature seems to have risen here in the last few hours by a degree. I'm only going by the car thermometer so don't know how accurate it is but when I got home at 5.45 it was showing 1C and when I went to Tesco an hour later it was showing 2C. A little nervous about tomorrow!

Well, some people reckon seagulls are a sign of severe weather, however our hamsters, who started creating nests last weekend have gone on overdrive this past day or two and are both now completely buried in their bedding. I am taking that as a sign!

Yep, the precipitation out to the west never made it to Hayes, 2c all the way down the M25 to Surbiton, and now just waiting... with the hamsters... excitedly, hoping to avoid the school and work run back up to Uxbridge in the morning:)

Ian Ferguson mentioned or at least showed that the front with snow that is so close to making it's way east too fragment and retreat north and west.
