Morning all!!

Well, I have to say I was a little concerned before I went to sleep last night as the snow was falling, but no settlement. I even had a dream that I woke up and looked out of the window to nothing....

However, my concerns were unfounded....

Its that beautiful slight where you can't tell which is the road and which is the pavement, the steps accross the road have merged into one and I can't see out of the back windows because the wind has covered them in snow!!

About 6 cms now, perhaps a bit more and still falling.... things are good!!

Morning good news for you. I have just heard the road from yelverton to princetown is shut! Snow here in Woolwell an inch or so. Looks like the cut off for snow into plymouth is derriford. Dragging myself to work now. Still can't believe it snowed here!!

Haha - I looked out of the window at 5am to do some lamp post watching - only to find that the council have turned the lights off to save money... When the lights finally came on I saw the heavy snow settling and dozed off.

Next thing, I'm dreaming that it had all turned to rain and melted, and that I went out on my toddler's trike in search of snow and triked all the way from Christchurch to Poole. So relieved when I woke up!!!

Anyone else having issues with sky TV? No signal all morning and I want to keep up with latest. ...

I don't have sky tv working here either.

Only about an inch of snow here but school still closed as staff can't get in, unfortunately no one told the cook so there are lots of bacon rolls going begging in a school in Somerset :D

I don't think you're missing much, get outside in the snow for heavens sake - you can watch TV all year 'round!

What a lovely view you have, bobafet! Ventnor is one my favouritest places on Earth :-)

Yay, text from school to say they're closed. Excellent. Quite heavy here now. Poor hubby on his way to work (he would get fired if he didn't turn up) - hope everybody who has booked an MOT today does the right thing and phones in to cancel so he can come home.

Gonna get the boy up anyway.girl_devil.gif

Lovely white scene outside, probably about 2cm now - not sure where the 10-15cm for here will come from as it seems to have eased off now, but i intend to make full use of what we have got clapping.gif

No wind which is what i had really expected to notice?

Turning just a little sleety here. SW coast of IW

Still dry snow here, must be the sea, I am 950 yards away from it, but with a chalk down in the way. You have a direct sight of the sea with no Down in the way.

I wonder will the Military road stay open then? I was on the middle road at 0630 but turned back as I only had a normal not 4X4 car and it didnt look like I would have made it past Calbourne mill S bends.

Fairly common to lose the sky signal in heavy snow, could also be snow build up on the dish/lnb, luckily mine is low enough to reach without a ladder, I've already cleaned mine off and it was working allot an hour ago when I tried it.
