Just seen that cars are now sliding past my house, if it does not stop soon the roads will block here, because of sliding and blocking, etc.

Hey guys anyone know how the roads are in Filton/stoke Gifford? Going to try venture to work if safe to do so.

Time to measure how much snow outside...looks a lot :p

What a lovely view you have, bobafet! Ventnor is one my favouritest places on Earth :-)

Yay, text from school to say they're closed. Excellent. Quite heavy here now. Poor hubby on his way to work (he would get fired if he didn't turn up) - hope everybody who has booked an MOT today does the right thing and phones in to cancel so he can come home.

Railway has stopped on the Island, there are no trains, the snow has reduced the Island to a crawl I am afraid.

Poor show so far, been snowing since 7am, and about 1/2 a cm. Light precip showing on the radar closeby, nothing that heavy looking likely ( at this stage!) :/

By the Filton police station the roads are passible, and quieter than they should be at this time. Past the big filton roundabout I wouldn't know.

Erm...

Nothing to report here sadly, as yet, except:

the wind is picking up

and I have a couple of disappointed children slowly putting their uniforms on!

I think that watching the snow blow in from the direction of the sea is amazing. Not many times do you see that.

My Mrs and a workmate set off to Newport at 0645 they have turned back in a 4X4 via Yarmouth rd, do not drive from Freshwater to Newport via that route.. Jacknifed lorrys two of them.

Mrs still trying to get back home.

Personally Chris I wouldn't bother. The A38 from Almondsbury to Alveston was terrible a couple of hours ago. I should imagine it's got worse by now.

Nothing moving here.... About 4-5 inches I recon. Judging by what's on the car. Woohoo! Schools are shut too! Brilliant! Now to have breakfast and go out to play :)

Around 10cm has fallen here so far. Still going strong. Snow drifts over 1ft.
