What a day, moderate snow from 8am and hasn't stopped once, 3 and half inches so far, thank you France! Now don't nick any of our storms this year and you will be forgiven! :D

LOL - GFS 12z now disrupts the trough on Saturday - possible heavy (marginal) snow across many parts of the country.

My OH just taken my boy in his sledge to Gloucester park why not me you may think, well it looks like I've either got shingles or slapped cheek syndrome sad.png have a bright red face very sore tight cheeks that are itchy as hell, maybe an allergic reaction I don't know but I can't risk going out till I know for definite and although the cold will probably ease the pain I am feeling I doubt very much it would help either - so a snow day and I'm stuck in sad.png boo hoo

Sorry i have to quote your sore tight cheeks, cant miss the chance..... :D

Is it intensifying over the Channel on our side?

Looks like it is! May be in for a heavier spell shortly in Thanet!

We now have the finest grainy snow I have ever seen...wasn't sure if it was drizzling, I guess this is what's called snizzle ?

I can see the light above the clouds that are ever so slowly encroaching from our West...might squeeze another 30 minutes of heavy snizzle...just in time for the darkness to ensue.

Been snowing for 8 hours here 8cm but its been mostly light to moderate a few periods it was heavier but mostly moderate flakes to small granular..... Hoping for a bit of heavier stuff before it fizzles out..... Should be snowing here for a few more hours yet.... Footprints and tyre tracks from earlier are covered.....

when its all done could you measure for us please Will? I need the depth for the snow cup and we've used all the Snow in the garden

Been snowing since about 8am here in Reigate, light but steady all day with the odd heavier burst. Has added about 3cm to the 8cm that fell on Friday. Looking at the radar we probably have only about an hour left, and soon will be in to the lighter falls at the edge of the system as it moves slowly away north east. Unless of course it changes its mind and heads back! Will freeze hard tonight by the look of things.

Temperature got up to 0 a couple of hours ago but now it is -0.5c with a dewpoint of -2.5c

Glad that those who missed out on Friday have had a good fix today. Let's see what tomorrow might bring - our least favourite word 'marginal' may be used a bit in discussions....

Agreed good.gif

Spent all day with my three year old exploring Horsenden Hill woods and sledging through woodland runs. It is like a mini Val d'Isere up there. Now going home for a robust French red. Sante!!!
