Lovely surprise this morning! Heavy snow still this morning from a ribbon on ppn stretching to Blackpool. Here's hoping more for all of us today!

Heavy here now, sticking nicely now got about 2 cm. Apparently it's quite deep in Southport.

Shows what happens when the wind is in a favourable direction. Parts of the NW coastal areas could do better than eastern coastal areas. Some have been reporting a rain mix.

Snow is getting heavier again, a heavier band is developing to my east. Very hard to predict what is going to happen when heavier bands seemingly develop out of nothing.

It will be interesting to here the mechanics why this happens.

Maybe not a rain mix but its not sticking in Newcastle!

Hope it does stick for you. Nothing worse than an area that is expected to do well is actually doing worse than a place that wasn't favoured! At least not in lying snow terms.

Hope it does stick for you. Nothing worse than an area that is expected to do well is actually doing worse than a place that wasn't favoured! At least not in lying snow terms.

Keep me updated! I'm stockport, its snowed more here than Irlam - but can see latest radar is picking up green/yellow and red echoes heading that way.
