6cm (erm 2 1/2 inches?) in Knutsford. Our road got attacked by the enthusiastic gritter (it's one of the main cut-throughs) but it's only melted in the gritting path - ETA actually it did settle, it's a slush path! Lovely snowballing snow, about zero still. Doesn't look like there's much left on the radar though unless it's developing again - any ideas on that? smile.png

BBC said it would "fizzle out" but ppn looks to pep up behind after a gap - quite rapid moving - odd that an Easterly front has managed to get past the hilly bits although from a SE direction.

Right under the green blob now, really coming down now with reasonable sized flakes.

Quality - if you look at rain today radar and zoom right in, there is a red band just like a streamer heading right for Irlam all the way back to sheffield.

It is very strange isnt it pal? even coastal areas of cumbria are reporting snow when you would only expect it to get as far west as the high street area? must be quite a powerful frontal system! where abouts do you live iceaxe?

The Fylde Coast is a winter wonderland. I am lost for words! Lots of decent radar echoes heading this way by the look of it too! Unbelievable.

Local radio reporting lots of school closures in Liverpool, not being funny but we hardly have 3ft snow drifts, just a covering about an inch
