Icy rain here in Brighton. I reckon it will turn to sleet proper before nightfall.

Ok that didn't take long. Sleet / wet snow now!

i don't know what people are moaning about the rain band is about to engage colder dew points from the east, this is a very fluid situation and could give surprises to a lot in the west and north west London areas, maybe worse further east but that would only be due to lack of precipitation, which could still come your way as the triple point has now formed over cherbourg and the system is much more organised, both in terms of moisture and colder dew points being dragged into the mix, far from over in my opinion

Nothing personal, SS, but I thought rain always is a fluid situation...

Rain here but surprised at the fight that the snow is putting up, still quite snowy on the roofs and cars but is melting, temperature dropped to 2.7C now.

I'm by the upper end of Preston Park - wet snow here now!

Looking at radar covering our area ( http://www.meteoradar.co.uk/Home/ZoomRadar?lat=51.5375&lon=-0.45454545454545503&z=7&x=405&y=455&type=rain-snow-sleet ) and tracking its current progress then surely the stuff in east side of channel stretching from hastings to boulogne will be coming this way.

Temp continues to drop - now at +1.1c

Still hopeful for at least a few flakes again in while

Hi everyone, been reading the forums for a while and decided to join.

Got big '50p' snowflakes falling here in Worthing, shame the ground is wet from all the rain, but quite nice to watch :)

Temp 2.2 DP 0c - should be snow if it gets here (which now looks highly likely)

Currently at Lasham Airfield in Hampshire (620 ft asl). Have abandoned the external survey of a Boeing 727 freighter due to very heavy driving wet snow. Definitely level 8 on the Murr scale, probably now at level 9 since I started typing. Now for the trip back to Turners Hill and then Groombridge (in a more confident manner than if I hadn't had these winter tyres fitted! :-) ).
