It's coming down rather well again. 1cm of fresh snow so far & settled readily on all surfaces, even where it had melted.

Temp now +0.6 up from an overnight low of only -1.4

Really is hammering down here now. Roads and pavement all white again and topping up lying snow nicely. Looks like it's going to be a short lived surprise but it looks interesting for later today. Fingers crossed!

Eased off again for now and can hear a bit of a drip, drip, drip.

Looks like one more moderate shower to come, then that's it for a while.

My snow sensor seems to still work well as I woke up on Friday just as it was starting too!

Anyway, nice surprise but off to get a few more zzzzzzzzz's before school run & work.

Ps: I'd like to bank the 00z nae from an imby perspective please!

Still snowing heavily. I reckon we've got another two centimetres out of this. A nice surprise to wake up to and hopefully a little taster of things to come later.

No snow but last nights sleet that melted has literally turned to ice! The roads are sparkling with pools of ice at the sides.....it can't be snow as nothing on the cars apart from frost....going to be fun getting to work today!

The ppn seems up be moving a direct nne according to the radar meaning passing out some 25 miles plus to the west off Newbury. So no chance for us.. Swindon could be lucky though,. Very cold night here instead and ice looks rife. Be careful all when you go out this morning. No matter how you travel. :-)

Definite surprise to wake to a fresh few CMs and heavy showers pushing NNE from the English Channel coast should mean more soon.

Just shows how the weather can make fools of us!

Yes, it is indeed raining here. Temp is 1.2c - some snow still on the ground but will be quickly washed away now no doubt. I did wonder if the rain will turn to snow later on this evening for our area or perhaps the Nae says 'no' - I havn't had time to check yet.

Looks like a rain event for most today in the south west as the 850hp temperatures have moved north east over night. It would on be -2 or -4 maximum which is rain unfortunately.

A little snow overnight cant tell how much as not been out, looking at radar looks like main bulk of showers went up over Wales. Current temp 0.8c with dew point of 0.3c humidity 96% wind light east.

A very welcome top-up of about a quarter inch here in Coalpit Heath.

Glancing through the thread, am I right in that there will (could) be more later today?

Off to the MetO site to find out......

the showery activity seems to have produced a mix of rain sleet wet snow ,depending on hight .but as i see it the next system which is visible on Sattelite and radar is the front pushing north .as that approaches we should pull in lower temperatures dew points etc as the morning progresses .now the hard bit and that is it needs to stay around and maintain a s/east or east wind . its going to be a case of radar watching and fingers crossed but at this stage i think its game on for some . presently i have a temp of 2 c and a good thaw going on But as with the weather that could easily change come this afternoon , my friends in canada had record high temp last week ,now its minus 18c and Shoveling it down,IF YOU WANT A SMALL FIX type in Winnipeg web cams and select top of page it takes you to other parts of canada as well .EDIT temp just dropping slightly drinks.gif
