Getting heavier

Original lying snow did melt with approaching front....so not surprised if it turns to sleet

Precip has reached here, sleet currently. As expected, a big rise in temps as it approached, 5.1c now, although humidity still falling apparently to 65% which would leave a dp of -0.9c, but I think the humidity reading is suspect, doesn't feel that dry at all.

My guide was poor for today, I based it on the GFS temps which had 3c this afternoon and lots of wintry showers!

We all get it wrong Andy, however it always seems to be the next two weeks.

Amazing how the heavy showers went North of Wales and south of Wales pity that ,but we had surprise last week with heavy showers from the S east ,win some we lose some.Had a lovely 10 mins blizzard today what could been.

Rain showers today, possibly wintry showers tomorrow, could be further west over Pembs (Dangler!) though leaving us quite sunny.

Walk with dog started well - 1 of the clock and snow flurries falling from clear blue skies. 3 quarters of an hour later on the last lap, horizontal windy sleety horribleness.

You'd best listen to the Met Office rather than what they say in there to be honest, much less bias.

There's a potential snow event for us on Sunday but next week doesn't look promising to me with a milder pattern looking likely.

ok.Thanks for that. Its my birthday monday and like the big kid in all of us i was hoping for snow just because my girlfriend had a load of snow on her bday last month! 1 day i will grow up but until then .......

Yes Bobby we need a stalled front which is distinct possibility Lets see if the HP over N East Europe can make some progress westwards so we then can have a slider LP on we can have some very disappointed people on the model thread againThe GFS further westwards go on my son Edited February 5, 2013 by keithlucky
