525Ft feet light steady rain now. Temp now 2.2C dew point shot up to 1.2C. Will have to wait now until the system pulls away southwards.

Glass half full. Nope just a good call.

Just got in after a 16 hour night shift.

the main roads are slushy, but passable. The roads around the back of Thurgoland are slushy and slippy.

And it's still snowing...got to get back to work tonight!

Bloody hell mate, thats one hell of a night shift, especially for a weekend.

I've been into work this morning from 9am to 10.30am to prep some material ready for the morning, and i thought that was bad enough.

Looks like the Penistone snow magnet is in full effect as it sounds like its raining all around us.

The snow line is about 140m at present, I expect this to rise throughout the day to about 200m until colder air comes in

If you look at the METO computer generated locals for Penistone they now show heavy snow from 6pm to 6am, could be an interesting night

for you if it pans out that way.

Only light sleet here and you'd only know that from the car windscreen. Temp been up to 1.8, but just dropping back a bit.

this from TM a short time ago-highly reliable as well from an offical Met O climat observer in the Peak

Snow line here is now around 275m ( 900 ft ). Your post ties in well with the latest Met' Office warning update which suggests around 10cm of snow for this area later today. A definite pulse of warmer upper air this morning as the temperature rose quite quickly from around 0.3c at 1030 to 1.6c shortly before midday.

I think i've jinxed it, temps risen to 0.7C, very light wet sleety snow, almost stopped and i can now see the hills a couple of hundred meters away.

METO does give it turning sleety this aft until turning heavy after the sun sets.

Its amazing the difference 50-100 meters can make to what falls from the sky.

Its more drizzle than rain, I can't see getting much at all, probably only a few cm over the hills!

I'll update after having time to consider the 12z outputs but nothing settling below 8-900ft this afternoon. Perhaps down to 600ft during this evening where heavier bursts occur?
