moderate snow here in Bingley. Starting to settle on cars n grass.blum.gif

We have very light sleet/snow falling here. Wasn't expecting much today but if it's settling where you are then you never know :)

It's been snowing lightly all morning here, everything is covered nicely but nothing of real note as regards to precipitation.

Just rain here, though the temp and dews are very slowly getting lower. V. marginal for this neck of the woods I think.

I think most will find that above 7-800ft is where it is snowing and this may lower to 600ft during the day, for settling snow, falling to lower levels at times with possibly some temporary covering, and even very low levels may see some temporary wet snow but I doubt by the time this ends that places below 500ft will have much if any cover.

I may be wrong, I hope for the snow lovers I am.

Not a good day for driving in the Peak District with 10cm+ going to accumulate on the higher road sections and increasingly later today being blow into drifts.

no real problems I would suggest

The chance of any disruptive snow before this evening is probably less than 5%. So I would go ; )

Edit: Sorry just seen johns reply :D

Been snowing since about 7:30 here, but before that it was sleet / rain and the ground as a result is very wet. Its settling though on most grass, but looking at the radar wont be long before we start to get some more intense snow and that might make it settle elsewhere.

not going to happen here in Leeds unless you have really good elevation, i suspect rain for most of the day.

Just plain old rain here now. Very slight accumulations on car and grass but temperature now rising slightly at 1.3c. As suspected, it is all a bit too marginal so far.

I think we may see something tonight before the precipitation moves south, at around 9pm the 0C isotherm, uppers and dew point should just about be good enough for snow.

But how much precipitation we have left will be very debatable

I think western parts are favoured for any snow upro midnight, then that risk extends to south yorkshire, by then all factors should be sufficiant for some low level snow for that area.

I think west of leeds may get a couple of centimetres later and south yorkshire could get 1-2". Obviously much more on higher ground with 10cm+ possible.

Still Snowing but overall too light to give more than a slight wet covering on grass and cars. Rising temps and dew points and I wouldn't be surprised to see this turn back to rain again later on.

Its wet enough snow to give a readout in the rain gauge, 2.4mm so far.
