Erm, I'm not sure if I should be posing this, but it somehow got onto twitter in the first place, so feel free to take it down if required, but this is the modified UKMO-GM for Monday... Many people will be pleased with this:

I believe Ian f posted it up earlier in the regional thread.

Sorry, what does it show??

In a nutshell a lot of snow. If you can't make it out (it is rather hard to be able to) it's an image of the UK. The purple starry symbols represent snow, and it shows snow even down to lands end by the looks! And I believe the green shows sleet? I'm not totally sure!

I know that Sunday/Monday are a long way off, but I just have a feeling that it's going to be a damp squib.

There just seems to be "something" missing. I can't quite put my finger on it.

When we were forecast the snow last month, it just "seemed" to be a certainty and I believed that it would happen. This time, I have my doubts.

Maybe I'm being fanciful, or maybe it's having the benefit of hindsight! Either way, I am just not feeling it this time. I didn't feel it the other night either, when snow was forecast for us here in S Glos just a few hours beforehand and it didn't happen.

Please excuse the ramblings of a wet blanket. I really would be happy to be wrong on this, but I just ain't feeling it. sad.png

Sorry to be a misery guts. sad.png

Ian gave us a sneak peek this morning, tha'ts from the 00z. I'm sure the 12z analysis has changed to a degree! Going by the ops so far a slight correction south and west may be on the cards. But this is just a guess, lol.

EDIT, I see Ians just posted. Will be an interesting Points west tonight.

Shame that chart isn't for 12h away, with all the uncertainty and track of that system.

Interesting that they produce these before the EC output as the ECM Det is a bit different to the FAX.

There is 910ft between us though so it can make all the difference. Don't look too much into the MOD thread, take notice of GTLTW, AWD and Chris55 on here. They will tell you what you need to know.

Thats a decent FAX for the Westcountry, ECM 12z a little further east. Modified FAX chart much better.

I wonder what time the ECM ends it's run down at Exeter? Do they get the info way before us? Or is that FAX produced before they see the 12z ECM.
