Strange, my garden has a heavy dusting of snow, not on the roads or pavements if that's what you mean :)

Hoping we get something a bit more significant later though

really nothing here. Just goes to show how localised snow can be. :-)

Snow Depth Cup

It's been snowing on and off all day, temps haven't risen above freezing, wind chill cutting through like a knife, yet still no ruddy accumulation! Big fat NIL from me tonight, Tom!

Thank you Jo, prompt as ever! Just hope you went out there in sensible footwear tonight, not like January, eh!

Only joking sweetheart!

I'm glad there's that big river between you and me, otherwise one night I think you'll come gunning for me!

Cheers,

Tom.

Evening -

Well an exciting drive out there-

Left Greenhithe Crossways with no covering on roads or pavements but was well below freezing- radar was MEH-

Went down to Ebsfleet & on to the A2 where the streamer was earlier- has around 1cm on the grass & the roads were just covered-

Crawled down the A2 for 2 miles & come off at the Wrotham road ( IStead rise ) trunk road -

As soon as we got to around 75 M- 100M the snow started to build up & when we got to Culverstone village there was full covering- turned down a side road as the traffic was gridlock-

Snowball fight ensued- I can honestly say the snow was perfect- just like sand- very hard to get into a snow ball!-

Snow ~2/3cm - but drifts up to 1 foot deep- was hilarious!

just poodled back along the A2- back here in GH- first heavy snow shower in a while & the radar has exploded once again-

around 1cm on the grass - more especially blown towards the fence & a covering now of glistening sparkling snow on the road-

Expecting more fun & games overnight- streamers still possible!

Great to hear of the deep snow in sussex-

& goes to prove that whilst the deep isnt widespread- those saying it would be bone dry for all have been proved wrong again-

Still time to get that snow into london- but we are around 60% done now!

best regards

Steve

Steve,

I find that hilarious..... I did exactly the same drive as you.

Out of London, down the A2 & through towards Meopham. The snow up towards Culverstone compared to here in Greenhithe is very frustrating.

Do we have any hope of anything here overnight do you think?

Chris

Tom, Dartford measuring has been extremely complex and I will give you the pleasure of determining the depth yourself

Path/ road nil to a 2mm drift

Grass 1cm or 10mm on grass, but on the moss nil.

Patio table drift to a 1cm down to nil

Patio chair 1mm but could be influenced by being overhung by the above table.

Do I win.

PS still the odd flake descending so might need a remeasure in 2 years time.
