Duno how much there is tbh, will go and investigate shortly.

I'm not really a fan of fine snow, it doesn't have the same magic massive flakes do...

Much prefer the fine flakes myself - they accumulate faster, they're usually a sign that there is absolutely no marginality involved, and they create awesome drifts too. When I think of big flakes I think of wet snow that doesn't accumulate very well and makes you soaking wet.

Went out to the bin shoved my arm in and it went half way to my elbow. A good 12 inches from finger tips I reckon mebe a bit more. Drifts round the back are a good 2 foot I reckon wall has nearly disappeared

Yeah I know.

I am 220 meters high though. Had 8 cm from last night and this evenings has topped it up nicely.

PTFD, Ten foot drifts this weekend? we are at 5ft.

I very much doubt it, but if it does keep all night (and I have my doubts but you never know) then there could be some nice 'big 'uns' tomorrow morning.

Still nothing here in the past six hours bar the odd flake blowing in the wind.

Snowflakes are microscopic now, need the front to intensify a bit.

first flakes in Brigg. Just loaded car as off to Lincoln tomorrow and plenty being blown on quick wind.

Fingers crossed I won't get there but I think a covering may be beyond us (although meto disagrees!)

Thats why i've not bothered measuring, it wouldn't be a true gauge as everywhere you put the measure it gives a different result and obviously

the best result will be chosen as the total snowfall.

I just use a rough estimate on the wheelie bin lid for a gauge, a proper rainfall gauge is needed in these conditions.

Yes I expect it to get a bit heavier and more extensive, conditions should start deteriorating down to lower levels!

I think as the snow gets dryer and the front grinds to a halt, we will end up with one large organised mass of precipitation over our region (more towards the west obviously.)

Due to the less marginality and finer snow you will get more bang for ya book, don't need bright colours on the radar to get good accumulations when we still have a 10-15 hour window of snowfall :)

NAE is obliviously an upgrade, even Lincolnshire gets in on the act.

NAE has just upgraded with every single run, while GFS has downgraded.
