Very underwhelming from Peter Gibbs at 18:30.

Showed plenty of rain over our region but did mention snow but not until later in the day. I was under the impression we we due for snow overnight and into tomorrow morning or was this never the case?

That looks quite marginal for much of our region I thinksmile.png

Edit: looking at the French chart..maybe not actually, especially further north and west

I would very much like that shale gas to be left untouched, reashearch fracking if you want to know why.

Have already. This is a fully operational shale gas well head in Connecticut. Scary huh?

That Snow Cup 4th Rnd Draw again, will decide probably tomorrow when to measure depths, if any.

In the actual Cup itself, any snow could literally be thin on the ground, if non-existant even!

More interest could well lie in a couple of the friendlies, N and NW of London. Could well be tense affairs.

If I had to tip a winner in any of the matches, it would be Chris from Kempston (Beds), I'm sure you're really pleased to hear that Hammer,

I've probably given you the edge now! doh.gif

All joking aside, what I have noticed whilst hosting this competition is how pretty evenly spread, the distribution of snowfall has been this winter, on the whole. All the region seems to have joined the party at one time or another, now it appears to be the north of our regions turn.

Good luck to you all!

All though its been a pain at times to keep track of things, I'll let you into a secret, I've actually enjoyed hosting it! hi.gif

As mentioned earlier, ECM 168 sharpens that low to our south east as energy disrupts into the trough from the south-west

Tamara - ill check later on but given the upper profiles (-6 to -8c 850's) under a shallow flow, one would hope that we would be the right side of marginal away from immediate coastal strips :)

News SE said a bit of uncertainty but to look out for heavier Sleet/ Snow arriving overnight could be 10cm of Snow by morning whole of North of the Thames coming in from the East, could be interesting see if this happens??

Well considering I'm already seeing snow through my window, I would guess that's a load of bhollocks :D

I see the usual dry norfolk and suffolk being predicted by the bbc forecast. I think I'm yet to see any snow fall from the sky from a front pushing in from the west in the last 30 years. Why the bbc bother showing snow for this area in such a setup (as they have the last few days as always) I really don't know, you'd think they would have learnt by now that ppn simply doesn't ever reach this far, or splits in to two and goes north and south. And the radars just as bad, you can't believe anything it sais.
