You're bloody lucky you know! If only this was a north westerly!

Hmm, not too sure! ;) First day of this we have had since last June! Its that stretch of Irish Sea between here and the Mersey that kills it! To be fair I am surprised that the Irish Sea on the other side of us (eastern Ireland) hasn't killed it all today! It usually does!

Short lived hail shower here just before, turned to light rain and stopped just as soon as it had started.

Been inside at work all day, just had a look at the radar and a nice cell passed just north of me mid afternoon which would have been nice to see, even if it wasn't directly over head. Not a bad day overall for some in the midlands and south east.

Storm just skirted to south of MK in the last 20 mins, heard 15 or so deep rumbles and saw some distant lightning. Appears to be heading over Luton way.

Hi Im really interested in convection and trying to forecast thunderstorms but I need some help.. :L

The thing I wanted to ask is what the coloured lines over SW Wales mean on the first chart, I say they because the other models show some interest in that region:

gfs_icon10_eur72.png

PPN amounts are high for the region:

gfs_prec_eur72.png

Lapse rates:

gfs_lapse2_eur72.png

This chart caught my eye because (if im not mistaken) it shows circulation over the same area:

Any help on what they mean and what conditions they would bring for that region would greatly appreciated!

Thanks.
