Thunderstorm moved through fairly quickly on the very gusty wind but I did manage to see 5-6 flashes and hear 6 or more rumbles of Thunder.Storm has moved away to my east.Feeling a lot fresher now too.

Sounds good. Hard to imagine some places have had multiple storms in the time I've had none. Enjoy.

Let's go and drown our sorrows in the NSC for another year...We won't see anything this summer! Good luck to those in with a shout

Looks like Castle Donington and the Download festival taking a pretty direct hit from one of the stronger cores. Ill be there tomorrow, only get the soggy ground to deal with and none of the fun of the storm! Webcam shows its pretty grim there: http://www.downloadfestival.co.uk/download-ralphcam

as the link below shows the storm(s) are now e/se of here but still the odd rumble sse of me and the rain appears to have about stopped, 9.2mm so someone around here may well have 15-20mm I would imagine?

There was a weak storm in the area now moved off. Wouldn't class it as a humdinger though more a thundery shower. Nice to see lightening 2000 out perform nextstorm.  Total rain 3.6mm

Just had a walk in the drizzle and hear a rare rumble of thunder now.

Perhaps my rainfall rate will shortly pep up like Reef's

That thunderstorm deposited 11.6mm in the end with the loudest thunder Ive heard in years.

It must have struck pretty close as the power went out for 10 minutes.

Does anybody else find it ironic that this thread was started a week ago with the modelling for a potential plume event yet the storms have come courtesy of trough/cold front racing W-E from the Atlantic as part of an active LOW pressure and coinciding with the peak heating time of day!?

All moving out into North  sea now. There are also Sferics popping up in the Irish sea. Never mind plenty of time for a storm up here

A couple of flashes and rumbles around half 2 near to Mansfield along with some heavy rain, but nothing overly spectacular and moved through fairly quickly. Still, for a low risk outlook it was better than nothing :)

I found it ironic that Carol Kirkwoods phrase humdingers didn't kill all storms dead.
