Plenty of moisture giving heavy wet snowfall currently above 1400m. An undercut of colder air mass now moving in from the Northwest over the next 6 hours or more likely to to deposit 20cm of snow in the village with a lowering of the snow level by the end of the day. Should get some pictures later.

The clouds finally break this morning. Fantastic early winters morning. Love deep snow and watching snow flurries in the sunshine. Current temp -4c in the village and -9c on the top.

Huge amounts of fresh snowfall currently. About 45 cm locally. An avalanche over in the next valley has resulted in the loss of life of 3 off piste skiers over the weekend. Still it snows.

Hi Carinthian-thank you for sharing all the lovely pictures of the snow that you are getting and look like continue to get over the next few days.Certainly getting a good base there and it is such a shame the inevitable great conditions can’t be shared by many because of blasted covid!Sadly with the new variant I fear the worst for this season now which is so sad for the hotels bars and restaurants.In what looks like being another great season for snow like last season,so few will be able to enjoy the joys that snow brings.It really is a crying shame.Stay safe over there

Good to have the mountain restaurant's back open , especially enjoyable outside in the current sunny conditions. Problem with those hot chocolates is ending up with cream into your face !

Morning all. Down to -16c locally in some parts last night. Currently -10c in village with a promise of sunshine today. Three years ago we had a big snowfall in Salzburgerland ( picture below ) . We currently have less than half that amount shown but plenty good enough for ski-ing.  Glad to see some flights heading out from the UK this morning for Austrian  Ski Holidays. Nice to see some arrivals in resort this week for what should be a fantastic week , weatherwise and holiday.

Morning all. Yep a cold one last night. Current temp -12c. Cloud has gone this morning , so should be a sunny one today but chilly.

Locally, this is turning into quite a snow event. None stop for 36 hours or more. Picture below is from the lower valley  .Here in the village at 1350m absl, 40 cm of fresh powder snow and drifts of 100cm of more . Current temp -8c. with a strong wind. Will send some pictures when the visibility  improves.

OK , some pictures taken this afternoon in the village. Still snowing before bedtime and temp down to -12c , Enjoy!

Morning all. This now a 3 day non stop snow event. Half a metre of snow measured in the village currently. Slightly less cold at the moment with temp around -4c but the wind continues to cause blizzard conditions. Think this now causing travel problems in the area with the shear amount of snow cover. I am sure the mountain will be storm bound this morning with some higher lift closures for safety reasons. Glad I have plenty of essential supplies in stock ( booze )

Yep , saw that. Great result especially as he is no youngster. Sure they will be celebrating in the Ski Club house up on Pendle Hill.
