South East & East Anglia Regional Discussion 17th June 2013 onwards

A nice array of storms there, but they are splitting NW and NE, missing the vast majority of Southern England altogether, apart perhaps from the tip of Devon and Cornwall ?

Wouldnt worry... Conditions are only going to improve as we head through tonight and for the next 72 hours... So all to play for... this is not even day one of what could be a storm fest or jack..

I think it maybe setting itself up here in Essex. Last time I saw cloud like the stuff to the South of us was at Glastonbury in 2005. A few hours before the mother of all storms hit.

I agree. I'm in South Essex and there seems to be a bit of convection happening to my south. it's going up really quickly. starting to get that purply thundery look too. here's hoping. its been a while since we had a good storm.

Similar situation to my south here too, can see it bubbling up nicely. Think it's just some mid level accas, but promising signs.

Hello everyone.  Sorry haven't been around for a couple of weeks.  But a friend of mine has just signed up here, and I told her I posted here....so I'm kinda trying to make it look like I'm a regular.  Ssssh, don't let her know I've been AWOL.

I'm going to catch up proper later on this evening. Have to go do, stuff, for the moment. :)

Evening, what a fantastic day (shame I was stuck indoors most of it).

Just checked out one of the many storm trackers and the activity seems to be dying out for this evening, tomorrow & wednesday look more promising if you fancy trying to catch a storm though.

Looks like us in Sussex are missing out on the action coast Posted Image

What action Tom ?? A few spots of rain down in the West Country seems to be about the extent of it so far. Patience my friend !!

Very heavy rain here in north Essex.

I'm keeping an eye out in your direction but I've not seen any lightning as yet.  Opted not to water the garden tonight, which will be why it missed us here.

Rain not as heavy here as radar suggested. Never a black square ;-)

Spent the day gardening - shorts and t shirt in the front, fleece and joggers in the back, the temp difference in that wind was astonishing. Currently a sort of mild 11C, fab sunset with all manner of interesting mid level cloud on offer :)

Want not to be revved up about the next couple of days but can't help that shiver of anticipation!

Morning all,

There was some very heavy rain here at bedtime last night but it seems to have cleared this morning, it will be a few hours yet before I stick my nose outside the door but it looks okay out there at the moment !

Have a terrific Tuesday Posted Image

Good morning.

Very muggy already this morning, the sky has a strange light to it this morning, it could be the damp, misty conditions or just general cloud, but it is quite eerie out here in Sussex.
