East coast + Easterly wind = no convection, unless we get storms off the continent it will just be a dry and sunny day here.

Norfolk has it's own peculiar climate, people that don't live here can't understand why we get what we get when we get it! The forecast can be well wide of the mark a lot of the time! Makes life very frustrating when you get this kind of juicy scenario which should deliver, but never does. However there have been occasions when storms in the N Sea have whipped back inland from a NE'ly direction which has caught me on the hop before now :)

I think this afternoon and evening we have a better chance Posted Image

I hope so.

I only got a few hours sleep last night - I just want this heat and humidity to do one!

I want winter!

Small cell developed over Sussex/Hants border and wouldnt be surprised to see a little more action before the main event later on, it's still sooo humid!

Damn it's humid Tom! The sun is really trying now so that cell development should increase through this morning.

Hazy sunshine has already sent the temperature up to 25c here. Last night was a let down for my particular location, perhaps the compensation will come later ?

Some really good reports and photo's from elsewhere around the country though, so congratulations to all those whose sleepless night was well worth it.

About 50 firefighters and eight fire engines attended a fire at a farm on Elsthorpe Road, Stainfield, in Lincolnshire. In Kent a house in Lympne caught fire at 02:00 after a lightning strike and a property in Gillingham was struck about 04:30. No-one was hurt in either incident. Fire crews also had to pump water out of a house in Sandgate when it became flooded because of heavy rainfall.

London, Essex and Cambridgeshire have also been affected. In Market Bosworth, Leicestershire, 21mm of rain fell in less than an hour, the BBC Weather Centre said. The Met Office has issued a yellow warning - "be aware" - for rain for parts of England, Wales and Scotland.

That development to the SW of London becoming more organised by the second!

Yes and that stuff in the Channel has suddenly appeared, organising and marching north.

Sun's come out here at London Southbank - although only 29c in the office - so a tad cooler than it has been Posted Image
