I'm not sure if it's planes taking off and landing or not yet, but I *think* I have heard around 3 very far away rumbles of thunder - could be wrong though!

A real fluffy owl?! Just got a distinct louder rumble here now.

yes, or the small owl I think it's referred to. There are a male and female here living in the park, think they live in the tree here, delightful creatures. The rumbles are getting louder and its not my tummy!!

Being several miles north of you the other side of Heathrow, I can confirm there are almost constant rumbles going on. Skies are that twilighty grey colour and I am pretty sure they are darkening.

Yes, that line seems to be closing in on W/SW London pretty quickly and developing all the time, with a general movement of NNE, so someone could stay under it for a while. Also part of that line trying to link with that stuff just crossing Eastbourne.

An interesting few hours ahead, me thinks, and nervous for some. Posted Image

Aww, You're such a positive person Coast Posted Image  I think I'm resigned to the "jam yesterday, jam tomorrow but never jam today" scenario!

There's got to be a great chance of imports tonight and then there's a band of thundery rain due on Thursday, even if nothing home grown affects Norfolk in daylight today.

One thing almost for sure is that some who have been disappointed so far, won't be, by the end of all this. Posted Image

It's here! The lightning has just turned up - sending the construction guys who are up high on the metal roof in the distance running at some speed across said roof - and loud thunder accompanying it now. However sky is getting lighter even though light rain is falling. Edit - rainfall getting heavier.

Short burst of rain arrived but the thunder seems to have stopped, anyone else in west London thinking the same? Radar has the heavy stuff right over me in W3.

Well that seems to be us done for now, skies brightening, rain stopped, light breeze. Husband at home in Surbiton says skies are pitch black but no rain or storms; says it looks fab.
