It's still tipping it down here and we had thunder and lightning for about 20 minutes so I would call that a decent result.

nah that was boring.. seen better from an isolated shower

Do you remember the wing cafe by any chanceIn the island right by the chippy

I do indeed. My father used to park the bus (he was a bus driver!) in the bus terminus right opposite. I was only a nipper at the time, but I remember him giving me 20p to go and get him a cup of tea from the caff - 'cos he'd forgotten the flask mum had made him!

Rain/electricity is completely over, here. Glad I didn't get my hopes up for more!

Oh dear, what a disappointment! At 3pm our garden lunch was curtailed by a downpour and a rumble of thunder. When we left Oxted at about 8pm and drove back to Croydon, it all looked so promising, veery heavy rain and 2 flashes of lightning but now it's not much more than summer rain (although just picking up as I type) but not quite the armageddon we were expecting.

One rumble of thunder, no lightning, a bit of rain. Would like some lightning to make the excitement worth it please

is that really it. Is there anything more expected? How pants.....I honestly thought with all of this energy and heat we would have had a good storm. Dont get me wrong, that bolt right in front of me was very impressive but one bolt does not a storm make.

Aside from some heavy rain and a couple of rumbles of thunder all a bit of a non event in my part of Surrey.

At least the lawn will appreciate the rain

Well well well. We've had heavy rain, T & L a couple of times, now nothing... Atleast the snails are liking the weather now....

I was dubious about the amount of electrical activity we were going to get, so that was only ever going to be a bonus. However, the rain isn't even anything to write home about, heavy, yes, torrential, no.

I know Norwich (in particular) very well. Up there a lot - and always have been. And I do remember it in the 70's and 80's are being much more dramatic, weatherwise, than it ever is nowadays. What on earth has changed?!
