Today was cloudier here. Although nice in the sun. It has been a bit of a yawn fest with temperatures a little below the last couple of days where Id like them. Problem is, after the heatwaves, less than 21c is OK but not great. In May, 21c feels absolutely lovely!

At least in Kernow over the winter I can hold on to some of the longest amounts of sunshine out of the whole of the UK! :D

More sunshine today at the price of a chilly gusty westerly wind holding temperatures at 18c.

i think i would to preety much anything for a last burst of summer

12z continues the trend for a Bank Holiday heatwave, would be such a refreshing change from the last few years, still to early to get excited yet though!!

In the meantime Autumn continues today, max of just 16.9c though mostly dry bar a few spots of rain, hopefully clear skies tonight for the meteors!!

Looks like an improvement temperature wise after tommorow, 21-24c widely across the region Wednesday-Friday.

Thing is it only feels Cool because of what we got used to in July. In June, it wouldnt feel too bad right now. Its not cold though, just cool.

Anyway, seen a good few meteors and the ISS pass by too around 23:05. Fantastic treat. :D

Great timing with the meteorites and the ISS last night. Sky was clear for once. Drizzling this morning so luck was with us. Love the way the ISS fades and disappears halfway across the sky as it enters the Earth's shadow. Saw some very bright meteorites...even here in a built up area.

Trash. August is statistically warmer than May and June. Its just sadlt the last lot of Augusts have been average at best. Sure the nights are getting longer but you are wrong about it being cooler.

Ive always thought that, untill now !!! July on average is slightly warmer than August, But it does seem warmer maybe because August tends to be more humid than july,

But yes May and June gets nowhere near August.

I suppose one other aspect about late May and June in comparison to late August is that despite being a very rate occurrence, snow and blizzards can still be possible, such as what happened in May 1995 and also in early June 1976 (although, to be fair, I don't think I've ever known about a late June snowfall, unless there's never been one).

As for this morning, the weather is sunny, with a few odd patches of Altocumulus-like cloud to the West. A very great start to the morning. :) Bit of a shame it may not last, though.

Not sure since 2004, used to be warmer, mainly due to being more humid, but maybe this Aug might go against modern years and be warmest of the summer, looking warm from 22nd

It's most certainly not going to beat July. August is marginally the second warmest month of the year on average. It is way warmer than may and substantially warmer than June:

Even September, you note , is substantially warmer than May.
