Ah....you've changed your name! And location!

I live nearer Keynsham now than Bristol. Although I don't actually live exactly in either, but I doubt many people here have heard of Willsbridge! :)

Ian's Points West forecast showed thunderstorms within the large mass of heavy rain and he seemed confident of thundery activity.

Right now there is plenty of lightning over Northern Spain and Portugal drifting Northwards, so I guess this is the system due to arrive tomorrow.

93% humidity this evening!

Hopefully he hasn't changed his forecasting abilities. Looking forward to AWDs analyses over the Winter season in particular. Posted Image

I had some good showers today, nothing off the scale but still exciting nonetheless. As i said inthe convective thread, i'm up very early tomorrow, so i'm looking forward to seeing what appears on the radar! Enjoy the torrential downpours and anything else you get, could be exciting! :)

Currently 16.5C & 93% humidity here and calm. Almost has that "waiting for something" feel about it. See you tomorrow/today. Posted Image

I didn't think changing my name and avatar/image would be so confusing! :);)

Perhaps I'll just change it back when I can! Anywho, an early shift beckons. Should hopefully be finished before any potential deluge reaches my area though.

A few snippets from Ian;

"W COUNTRY Thurs threatens some v bad conditions with potential for 25-30mm+ in an hour rain rates in places. Expect local flooding issues."

"W COUNTRY After tonight's showery rain, todays episode starts into Somerset thro AM, spreading E/NE into midday on. Drier from S later."

"W COUNTRY For the weather watchers, key today will be potential MCS developments running into SW and indeed further E; high PWAT values, with squally downdrafts from any MCS giving strong gusts and possible hail."

Have a look on the radar mate, it's all currently over NW France heading north. That said, I'm sceptical as to the extent of the rainfall the further inland and north one is.The Devonshire coast will be the best place to be today if you like your rain.

Looks like it's just hitting the South Coast of Cornwall now. Any reports?

Falmouth, Looe, Fowey, Penzance all in the firing line imminently

Thunder here rain starting to intensify. Radar suggests that the band is not as big as I thought. Wishful thinking? Perhaps. I'm moving house today never rains but it pours.

It's 17.2C here,  93% humidity, so a high dew point.

It is quite dark and menacing towards the Purbeck hills, my lightning detector has been going off a few times already, roughly at a distance of 40 miles. Posted Image

I've just had a peek on the BBC weather site, it shows heavy rain until around 3pm for here, judging by the 5 minute radar, i would say it would be over in 90 minutes .. Posted Image

Rain started here about 10 minutes ago, still fairly light, but a heavy patch on its way.  Current temperature is 17.5.

Yep, looks like the worst has past here now and it was starting to brighten up but seems to have got darker again.

Received just 7.6mm since midnight, not as bad as expected here.

Not expecting nothing more than an hour or so of moderate - heavy rainfall here now.

As expected, Devon bore the brunt of it with some flash flooding now being reported around the county. South Somerset also not too pleasent.
