Despite the breeze cranking up through the trees, it's a beautiful morning so far and the wind has blown all the clouds away:

Morning all,

 

By jove, it is cold this morning.  So much for being stubborn and not digging the winter coat out this morning.  Really regretting standing there in a thin cardigan waiting for the train this morning.  That wind chill is certainly a shock to the system!!  Posted Image

It has clouded over considerably since this mornings cloudless start to the day but still fairly bright with fleeting glimpses of the sun. Winds still gusting around 30mph though and the mercury struggling, currently 8.8c here.

I have just heard from my friends down in Fairlight ( East Sussex )  who tell me they have only just got their internet connections and phone lines back today. Apparently everythig was knocked out by a lightning strike in the area during last Thursdays thunderstorms. I see Sunnijim is online at the moment. Any info on that Jim ?

Yuck. Cold and sore throat so a day off work today, very glad i'm inside. Weather Station showing 10.8c. Wind 19mph NW, Gusting 30mph. BRRRR

And to think we were wandering around the town after a day at the beach with ice creams just a couple of weeks ago.

 

And the blue sky will mean it's a cold one tonight. Yes we can safely surmise that autumn's here.

Afternoon all

 

 

An at times sunny day here, quite a strong wind though and oh does it feel a lot cooler out than of late.  Only just about managed to get into double digit land today but at least it has remained dry.

 

I did turn the lounge storage heater on low last night, but I was waiting for a cooler blip so I could test it before the real cold arrives, looking at the temps in the next few days it should be off again soon anyway,  but at least I know it is working.

There were a couple of "Old Dears" who were hanging on to the railings for dear life, I'd have thought that, unless you wanted to take pictures you were better off out of there.

 

I got salt spray on my glasses right by the "Hotel de Paris", must be a good 25m above where the waves were breaking.

 

The thumbnail below my name is taken from Cromer pier 5 months ago, was slightly better that day (understatement).

 

While I was taking some photo's someone told me they'd got a bus from Norwich just to see how bad it was.  I thought of going across to Walcott, but decided that I didn't want to get the car sandblasted

.....rather glad we are not in Cromer, even so it was about the same temperature up the Mendips as it was in the caves - 11 deg c so a coat was a must today !
