Winds were quite strong and gusty here earlier but have died back now but are forecast to increase again around lunchtime and become stormy this afternoon.

Blowing a gale again here, fourth time in 7 days winds have been gusting close to or above 60 mph, and sometimes higher. Getting a bit tiresome now.

Mean speed has reached gale force here now, the 7th gale day this month. Highest gust so far is 59 mph at 1010.

Nice and quiet here as it's wrong direction. It could well be the highest winds may well be much further south than predicted. You can see the Low on the Radar quiet well.

Looks like the low is sat in the Liverpool bay area now? Should be calmer for a short while before it starts up again.

Looks like the low is sat in the Liverpool bay area now? Should be calmer for a short while before it starts up again.

If it's over Liverpool Bay and heading east then the strongest winds will be across the Midlands.That said though the winds have really increased here in the last half hour or so.

Wind howling, and quite gusty, all morning here. Perhaps as has been said the storm is tracking further south than first thought so we are catching stronger winds than forecast?

Wind is starting to get some bigger gusts here now, probably still only in the 50s though, and much later then forecast yesterday. Guess the system has come through a lot slower.

Wind has really whipped up recently. If the low was over the Liverpool Bay Area and heading NE, then N Wales, Gtr Manchester, Cheshire, N Mids, Lancs then Yorks and NE England should see the strongest gusts.

Might be where we're a bit elevated, but I'm in central London on the 6th floor at work and the wind is HOWLING around the office. We do have really old windows though, so might be exacerbating it a bit.

Well that was a horrendous drive from Porthcawl to Holyhead because of cancelled ferry! Many flooded roads throughout west and mid Wales. I thought it was meant to brighten up by mid morning? Still chucking it down here.

Not looking forward to this Irish Sea crossing at all!
