Evening all

wet out again, thought we were done with the rain, oh well.  Not nice out that is for sure, reminds me of my horsey days when at a time like this I would be coming home from the stables after an afternoon hack before mucking out and sorting feed and rugging up.

JP or JT, where's the best place to go and see an 850Pa archive chart for last January, just tried the Netweather archive page but no chart seems to appear.

http://www.netweather.tv/index.cgi?action=gfs;sess=482f5be551559b42fc144c5ac424e99d

Here you go Chris. This link will do fax charts    http://www.wetterzentrale.de/topkarten/tkfaxbraar.htm   translate page to english.

Here is a very very good link for anything weather wise ,warnings, all sorts.    http://www.metbrief.com/index.html

Thanks everyone, much appreciated.

i have just watched theCountryfile weather and you can see how the fronts slow down due to the block to the east and you could see the cold fronts catching up the warm on the animation for the week. It was mentioned the model thread but he mentioned the low at the end of the week would go much further south than shown.

Could be subtle changes in model output come Thursday. I would say this week coming "Fingers crossed" could very well be an eye opener.

Indeed, interesting times coming for the weather methinks.

Just spotted this on the Welsh regional thread .....

post-10773-0-17618600-1389559934_thumb.j

Looks like snow is all around us .... Got me singing silly lyrics anyway lol

I want to feel it in my fingers

And feel it in my toes

Snow is all around me

And so the feeling grows

It's written on the wind

It's everywhere I know

So if you really love me

Come on and let it snow

You snow I love you, I always will

My mind's made up by the

Way that I feel

Winters just beginning,

Let there be no end

'cause on my the NW forecasts you can depend

So me and my mate decided we wanted to get up and personal with the floods just down the road from us..

Posted Image

Thats why we all need Winter to hurry up and kick in, It will stop the Atlantic express so waters can drain out. Mind you the size of the block to the East,Not going anywhere soon.

Nope and I made this point earlier in the week about this pattern being REALLY stubborn and we will see an increase in the jet etc..

Just flicking through the tv channels, with very little enthusiasm for what is currently on...

On Sky 327 (Movies 24) a film has just started (it repeats on 328 at 10 o'clock) called '500 MPH Storm' The description says 'An energy experiment goes awry, sending huge hurricanes rampaging across North America (2013)'

It's bound to be pants. The question is, 'do I watch it anyway?' :D

Over in the pseudo-Intellectual MAD MOD thread, Ian Ferguson has just confirmed that the low which appears in the ECM for the period around 7-8 days hence was one of the possible scenarios that Exeter saw the other day in their exclusive model (can't remember what they call it offhand).  I'm waiting for the coldies to declare that an Easterly is "nailed-on" already!Posted ImagePosted Image

There has been 9 sporadic burglaries in and around my town over the last 48 hours. Most of them done between 12am-6am, this is a very safe town normally so this has scared us all. This is exactly why street lights need to come back on. I've always hated the way councils try to save money before the safety of their citizens.
