That picture was of my fb feed might just have to venture down to see it tomorrow mKatie

By coincidence this was on a friends FB feed after I replied to your post ....post-10773-0-70763500-1389488860_thumb.j... Certainly worth a walk down there in the morning to have a look Katie but stay safe the water is higher than I can ever remember seeing it down there and I'd imagine is flowing very fast ! Take some photos if you go just take care :-) Edited by MKsnowangel

I can confirm it's a "tad" chilly!Just driven back from Leatherhead party to East Grinstead n the early hours and car thermometer was reading -3 before I even got onto my drive...which is normally -1 lower than road temperatures.

Heating just been switched back on to ensure the piggies don't have cold paws tonight...xxxx

Morning all!  I'll second that C'pn, it's certainly pretty out there today.

Came down at 7:30am and temp showed -0.1c, currently +0.1c

I'm planning to make more soup today. I like soup. ;)

got to -4.6 last night, now clawed it's way up to -3.7 as CS said in an earlier post looks really pretty.

Went to a follow on event from Stargazing live last night with my granddaughter, the astronomers were really helpful and loved having kids about.  Views of the moon, Jupiter (and it's 4 moons) and sigma Orion ( which is a nice triple star) stand out

Bitter cold out there this morn.

Feels colder than it has for a long time.

Come on models give us something!

Morning all,

Frosty and crisp out (not that I have been outside any further than the bin) 0.3oC at present so I suspect whilst I was lazing about in bed until 09:00 it just might have fallen below zero (stopped up late last night to watch the Bridge on BBC4 *and still fell asleep I was that tired*).

Looks like another nice day to be had before the poo arrives again from the west.

According to the Mod Thread it's game over. See you in December! (I still live in hope though as it's only the 12th January - in the words of the Jon Bon Jovi track " Keep the Faith")

The problem with the MAD thread is all the ME ME ME posters in there, they only look for what they want rather than what we will get.  Regards winter being over, utter tosh! we are barely into the first month and stat wise we see more *Winter* from end Jan through to March than at any other time.

"Been for a looksee in the Intellectual Thread (warm sleet, cold rain, hot snow, blah blah).

I just love the run up to a failed Easterly, the search for the guilty and praise for the uninvolved."

Besides, before 2009/2010 (epic times of course, but I still think 1987 was the best for my area), February was always the month we had snow. That's another 3 weeks off yet. Again, I have no experience in analysing the models but reading the model thread over the past 3 years things change so quickly. I bet you this time next week someone would have picked up on something.

Lots of despondancy in the MOD Thread this morning. You know things are bad when even "frosty" sounds downbeat!

Still I checked this morning and it's the 12th January so a bit early to write off this winter in my view.

Worth remembering last March when we got a good covering and would have been really snowed in had Guernsey not nicked all our snow!
