Was caught in an epic storm over Glos / Chelt today at 17:30 / 18:30 today...

Most main roads were impassable and the roads that were , weere pretty much small rivers! ( Brock worth road, hucclecoat road )

My car was STEAMING! when i got home... I worry It may of been too much water.... ( On way home from down south .. )

    Either way..

Some lovely purple CG and some great sounding booms. ( probably 2 to 3 a min )   .

+1 Storm for  this year ( Thats 1 more than the last 5 years )

Great to have been down south today checking out some action Oxfordshire style. Well done to those who got a storm, especially those that have had to wait so long (Jane Louise).

Estofex have their view out already. They obviously see potential for a better day than today after their forecast of nothing for today

Also (whilst uncertainty still remains), if that modelled Low Pressure system does indeed move in towards the weekend, that could provide some interest if it slackens as it crosses the UK as shown in today's runs. Wouldn't think about it too much at this time though, as it is still 5+ days away and these charts will obviously change. Convective shower potential is present throughout this week at times before this moves in (if it does).  :winky:

I really don't see much happening today (Tuesday). Much more cloud in the forecast. Showers at best IMO. The wait is till the weekend methinks.

    Netweather storm forecast for today.

    http://www.netweather.tv/index.cgi?action=convective;sess=43a192ec8a64e1f02b9eafe27a9da6f9

... storms likely to be focused over N Midlands/N England and Ireland/N Ireland this afternoon where models indicate wind convergence, but isolated storms possible elsewhere too.

Sorry was no forecast yesterday, as I was away, but looks like there was some good action from the SE England /S Midlands on through to Wales yesterday afternoon, I caught the eastern edge of a developing storm over west London yesterday early afternoon, with a few big drops and rumbles of thunder, saw I line of storms building to the north of the M4 as I drove towards London late morning, was little structure to them though, so wasn't really that photogenic.

Was hoping for something today but that's all dependent on the cloud clearing. Typically I'm going back to the southeast at the weekend when the chances look best for the West Country. May just have to delay my return.

Looking like some awesome convective setups could be upon us this week, especially towards the weekend!

On the 06z, instead of that dreaded Northerly, have a look at the first signs of some major storm porn! A long way off, but GFS going for something of a Spanish Plume instead of Northeasterly mush! :p NOW I'LL BE HAVING SOME OF THAT!

After spells of heavy rain this morning the sun is really getting to work now and it does feel muggy.Think I'm too far north for any action today but who knows!!..

No sunny spells here, but the sky to my south looks really ominous.

I don't think we are too far north, infact i would say our area and a little northwards for the best chance today. You are right about it feeling warm and humid now the sun has made an appearance. Fingers crossed for later this afternoon.

I think a Convergence setting up over SE Ireland. Too much cloud though I think to give any insulation to aiding any convective lift. There's always something to ruin it.

no storms here, but some nice cumulus undulatus overhead indicative of some unstable air parcels as the following piccies show

Been overcast for much of the day here, some showers moving in off the channel now but no sign of fireworks...yet. Can agree with others noticing the muggy feeling though.
