There is a small sniff at some heavy showers later, possibly in my location, Devon/Cornwall/Somerset and up in to Wales. Currently, there's a weakening front, as it clears, the sun should make an appearance in the afternoon, setting off a few showers. There's is some CAPE, although quite minimal. There's plenty of cross-model support, so we'll have to let nature takes it's course. :D

Well, both Leicesters Speedway matches were rained off over the bank holiday weekend.... We pumped around 18,000 Gallons of rain water off the track and rain storage tanks, all to no avail... Hope it's not a pre cursor to the rest of the season, when is this batch of poor weather set to move on...?

Yellow warnings issued for heavy rain tomorrow

Issued at: 1120 on Tue 27 May 2014

Valid from: 0400 on Wed 28 May 2014

Valid to: 2355 on Wed 28 May 2014

Rain will become persistent and heavy across parts of north east England on Wednesday, particularly across North and East Yorkshire. The public should be aware of the potential for disruption due to localised flooding.

Chief Forecaster's assessment

The frontal zone bringing rain to eastern England on Tuesday will move northwards on Tuesday night to become slow-moving across north east England during Wednesday. Rainfall accumulations of over 30 mm in places may cause some minor flooding from rivers or from surface water.

Covers

Yorkshire & Humber

East Midlands

East of England

Feeling quite cool with the cloud and light NW wind. It looks like it should brighten up later with a few showers. Hopefully, they will be beefy.

Some quite pokey looking convection building in places, temps up compared to a day or so ago - unless you're under any greyer damper bits.. A few scattered thunderstorms more than possible later, slow moving and potentially dropping a lot of water in a short space of time.

Front is just clearing now so hopefully something later on this afternoon/evening.

Yes it looks as though Mapantz interpretation is going well with the sun out here, and feeling quite humid with cells now developing....

Feeling muggy out there with a few dark clouds and convection bubbling up. Hopefully something will spark up later.

Cells beginning to pop up on the Dorset coastline and inland in Somerset (near Wells especially) with more towards Bristol.

Seems to have been a few strikes to the southwest of the central belt. If only there we're a few miles north................

Lots of good looking cumulus congestus clouds coming this way. The temperature has risen slightly, the sun is becoming brighter and it's starting to feel slightly muggy now.

2 sferics just popped up around Glasgow/Kilbride area, real or ??

I think so, seen them on Netweather for quite a while, would'nt be surprised to see at least 3 thunder cells across Glasgow 50 mile radius.

I'm really hoping for thundery activity to kick off in the active line which is continuing to develop in a line from Warminster to North of Bristol. At present it is running just West of here in a North-South line. There seems to be a lot of misty murk though so it's difficult to discern any towers but instead it's just pitch black in that direction!
