I often look at days like today and wonder what it would be like if it was snow. :cold:  Got a mini flood by the garages. Not that we had any snow this winter gone, not even a flake.  :nea: I would say you deff  got something coming there. Trade our rain for your storm :aggressive:

Going to Flamingo Land Friday so if there are any storms around on that day I guarantee they will be in North Yorkshire......

No, I haven't given up faith. Has been an increase in the thundery feeling of the air and showers are cropping up to the N, now.

A nice structure to my N. A distinct black area of cloud and then a sudden grey bit suggesting rain either falling or about to fall. Could get quite interesting soon.

Peeing down here!

Looks good! The intensity of the showers coming this way are about the same as yours. What do you class as 'peeing down'? LOL :D

The cat hates the misty rain, which is what we have here at the moment. He keeps whining to go out, so I let him out and he comes straight back in and then moans because he can't go out

Pretty horrible day here today, the rain has not been especially heavy but it's dull and cold like one of those "mild and drizzly" winters days. For eastern areas the next hope of anything convective is probably at the end of the weekend, before which things should start warming up from Thursday onwards.

Serious convection here, cells growing and forming by the minute! This evening may be good!

Managed to get away with very little rain today until the last couple of hours. Still horribly cold and overcast, such a shame as daylight hours are nice and long now.

Good Morning,

My wife is just the same! She hates this weather and hates staying indoors as she is very much an outside person. Staying indoors makes her very irritable!

It is still raining in Chelmsford although the latest chart that Carol K showed on BBC Breakfast appeared to indicate that the rain had now left us and moved westwards. If there is any sunny intervals today (it looks like they will be at a premium) what are the chances of them spurning thunderstorms?

Kind Regards

Dave

Still deep cloud here even though it isn't raining now. I can see by the radar how things are shifting westwards.

  • April 2024 - Was it that cold overall? A look at the statistics

General perception from many is that April was a cold month, but statistics would suggest otherwise, with the average temperature for the whole month coming in just above the 30 year average for the UK as a whole.
