I don't think I have seen this setup so many times before?! I'm pretty sure these synoptics will carry on through the height of Summer

And watch it all get pushed east or head up through the low countries, again and again!

If I could drive, I would drive up the M5 towards Cullompton right now.

Tuesday:

Clouds will break during the day with brighter, or sunny spells developing. Further showers are then likely, perhaps heavy at times, and with the risk of thunder in the east.

cheeky   few small heavy showers predicted not sure even later tonight around 8pm.  edit  I think tomorrow more hull/withernsea area looking latest met rain data might clip us with few coming through.

We've just had a very brief but very heavy shower with a few small hailstones thrown in. This could be an interesting week or so...

Hi all.

Really wish it wasn't only Monday, as I know all the charts will change..But things are looking great for the end of the week. Not a great fan of hot, hot, but if there's a chance of some storms then bring it on.

Quite some interesting clouds out there as I went on the school run, If it had been more muggy I would of had fingers crossed for something stormy, but not even rain on radar yet.

But end of the week :air_kiss:  :give_rose: storms please!

At least they keep your drains clear. If that was Sheffield the road would be under a foot of water. Showers looking promising will they manage the Sheffield shield. Some towers going up so we may even manage a home grown cell.

It is interesting looking at the clouds here, patchy an dark low clouds .. with higher bright clouds, quite unusual seeing the showers develop.. rather than die

A shelf like looking cloud to my W with a developing shower on it. All of a sudden feeling muggy again after a brief duration of fresher air.

Had some lovely mammatus here earlier but seems to have dissipated to a grey blanket.

Line of heavy showers developed just west of the M11 an hour ago and have proceeded to flush my dry(ish) week thoughts down the toilet.

30 minutes of torrential rain from a shower barely a couple of miles wide. Makes a snail look like Usain Bolt!!!

A light rain shower just. Nothing much just to dampen the ground.

Extremely heavy rain now in Denby for the last hour, really muggy feel to the air as well. These showers seem to be gathering strength as they push NW.

No rain at all here, but cloudy. Still and quite muggy now, no breeze.

I can concur with this. I was visiting the parents house near Ripley and was an absolute torrent outside. Seemed much heavier than the radar returns would suggest.

An early look for our community members, we have a brand new Android app available (hot off the press this evening) - the Netweather storm radar. It's a free app and has the 15 minute UK radar + lightning detection on there.

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.netweather.stormradar

(Full radar app, including all the features from the Extra radar coming soon btw)

Fantastic!  That should make things easier on a storm chase!

Pub run is sweet. I'd take that Saturday, mid-high twenty maxima with big thunderstorm potential.

Improvement on yesterday as we now are getting the +16C isotherm into the UK, which was the target I was looking for to get thing to really kick off.

Well, seems 06z, 12z and 18z are in pretty close alignment, which this far out is quite surprising!

Certainly looks tasty for eastern areas...but been here time and time again. All still too knife edge in my opinion, so it will be interesting to see how the models look each passing day.

This afternoon timelapse. Clouds going in two different directions.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QQnBLwwwy9k

How do you download the time-lapse from the card, got a cracking position up on the Pennines but the software thing is beyond me.
