Storm over Guernsey now heading my way. Is it likely to keep it's energy or die during the journey

Very humid here and more downpours approaching from the South...hopefully the lightning makes it as well!

Technically Thursday had more in-land strikes, alot of Fridays strikes were on the channel, and there was only 2,000 more.

nice storm here at the moment with deep loud rumbles of thunder, lots more lining up in the channel and heading in this general direction.

A few on here need to realise that we DON'T need sun today. The atmosphere is extraordinarily unstable and a little forcing is all you need. Currently after an hour or so of warm mist it is now thundering again with rapid convection. sadly all invisible through the murk. Rain totals are going to be spectacular in a few places - already well over an inch here but no intention of going out to find out as it is hosing down again.

Technically true, given the thunder already about, but IF the sun does come out more widely the storms will be much more severe, rather than embedded thundery rain-type cells. All eyes to the south :)

Woah. It's gone insanely dark here. Car headlights etc going on. It's a midday July day.

Thunder heard. Something's a brewing.

Great news - clear blue sky with small medium level convective cumulus has reached Brighton. Expect the temperatures to soar now!

Really need this system coming up through the west to organise itself a bit more, this cluster is only producing occasional high based thunder.

23.4c under cloud, conveys that we are under a hot air mass. If the sun breaks through, it'll warm up accordingly.

Very very eerie out there now. Still hearing faint rumbles.

One thing I haven't experienced in this spell is shot gun thunder.

Oh wow, nice rumble of thunder overhead! Best get videoing!
