Frost still lingering in the shade when I checked at 12.30. Lovely :)

 

Was -2.6C when I went to bed at about 2am.

Will this come off thoughts ?

I think it will TBH.

Maybe a covering, especially with some altitude but I can't see much more than that.

I'm hopeful for some wintry ness in the form of showers on Friday as well.

Coldest night of the winter so far last night, -3c here and another cold one expected tonight so all helps to cool the ground and help any snow that may fall to hang around longer.

oh well here's hoping

If we don't get any snow, chances are we'll get get more oportunities this winter than last.

And early next possibly a major storm.

Certainly starting to get interesting again.

A cold day here, lows of -3 degrees last night, and below freezing by 6pm again..

 

This week looks like ending up colder than any 7 day period we experienced during the whole of last winter and we are only in the 1st week!

 

Good chance of heavy snowfalls over the fells on Sunday onwards, and perhaps down to modest levels - all dependent on upper temps, thicknesses which look favourable staying at 528 dam level - the critical level.. and more importantly evaporative cooling, which often aids snow down to valley level in these parts..

Already almost caught up with last winters total and certainly should have beat it by weekend.

Gritters are out and about.

Been out in the car tonight and not seen a gritter but certainly felt plenty of icy patches on roads.

well I had to go to Nelson at 6.30 and parked car up returned back at 8.30 and car was starting to freeze and on the way back I saw the gritters but I also felt icy patches. ..scary.

I think the bbc weather site might have been on its xmas party

last night, has my location down for light snow at 5am tomorrow

morning, courtesy of the front that has meant to have the colder air

behind it.......

Believe it when I see it

The net weather forecast has mentioned snow on the pennines, as pendle hill and burnley are high up, i guess you will get wintry showers,especially pendle hill !! Remember spending Halloween up there in the 90's, very scary! Got lost up there,i must have driven up, down,around and through lol looking for a party of work collegues! Until the police were stopping people, and pubs boarding their windows up for the night, ended up in a lock in eating parkin and a few drinks and game of pool with the landlords, then we all slept in a mini bus right at the top of pendle hill !!!

Sorry went off on a tangent lol

Disappointing morning after yesterdays glorious weather, temps rose during the night and is now 4.7c  with heavy grey skies and an overall miserableness to the day.
