Bang on 2 inches level depth here, just measured out of curiosity. Another wee inch or 2 by morning wouldn't go a miss

Killie is getting hammered again, my rents are reporting thunder and lightning with the snow.

After all those years of the snowshield being utterly impenetrable...

Yep, it's because I'm not there  :nonono: Although I think a bit of melting is going in between showers there so we've probably still got more here...

Been absolutely chucking it down here for well over 2 hours now here In Kilmaurs, just a mile or two from Killie (Kilmarnock). I have lived here since September 2011, and in all that time, never have I seen it snow like this before! Absolutely sensational! Anybody know how much longer the snow is expected to fall? What is the forecast showing for snow over the weekend in Ayrshire? I will try to put up some pictures, if I can.

And earlier today too some pictures but less snow then than now.

Get some piccies up - would love to see how bad it is  :) I was meant to be travelling back to Killie tonight but not going to bother now, will wait until early morning and see if I can make it then. Police Scotland just sent out a message saying they'll be starting to pull HGVs over and getting them to stop (presumably so we don't have a 2010 motorway fiasco repeat but for Ayrshire this time!)

Game abandoned at Ibrox and question is why was the pitch not properly cleared before kick off rather than just the lines.

Yes they should have cleared it really going by this picture

Surprises were bound to come during this cold spell but boy what a surprise was this snow event. It seems to have caught a lot of people out and wasn't really forecast - more worthy of an amber warning than the event earlier this week. The depth here is 6cm, another 3-4cm would make for largest snow depth since December 2010 but the radar is suggesting much in the way of shower activity north of Glasgow but parts of Ayrshire seem to be in the firing line of more snow.

You want to seal up that yellow box! Great to see the pics in this thread - keep them coming in so us snow starved southerners can remember what snow looks like!

It's on the way, it won't disappoint. I'll give it an extra shove!

The showers are heading slightly south of east unfortunately SS, they will be lucky to be on a line with me let alone head further north...plus they're fizzling out as they reach here :(

Edit: Or are they...might have been a shift to a straight W-E? Too much radar watching is bursting ma heid!!! :D

Maybe I'll be very lucky during next week with some snow events!

They look to have shifted straight West-East on the last few frames, Killie hogging the snow as usual ;)

Getting a wee taste of that killie streamer.

Might even have cm soon. No bad for a north/westerly in the eastern borders!

Away to bed !!! Who knows may wake up with 4 inches lol naaaattttt

Still nothing in Ayr? Apparently there was snow near Stranraer.

Stopped snowing 20 minutes ago. That was the longest and most potent snowfall here ever! And it has not melted at all. Loving this weather.
