The latest Euro4 has a band of organised showers crossing the region in the early hours, probably arriving around 5AM (ish) for those near the coast.

Looks like a mix of rain, sleet and snow with snow more likely further inland and with any elevation of course. "El-E-VATE!"

Through tomorrow scattered shows look like pushing through Northern parts of the region with southern parts mainly dry until evening when another narrow but organised band of showers will push down from the North, getting into more Southerwestern parts of the region in late evening.

At least that is what the model shows but obviously showers are hit and miss. Good luck, happy snow hunting and any other type of hunting one might do on a weekend.

Looks good, more so the nw-se upper wind trajectory, as soon as this occurred this afternoon we had 45 min of snow/ graupel.... Much better!

Popped in to morrisons on the way home and the car park is a sheet of ice!!

Not surprising really as it's normally one big pool of standing water.

Looking at the forecast though it will probably be a sheet of ice covered in snow by morning.

Already down to -1C here. This will freeze the water on the ground and allow tomorrow's forecasted snow to stick!

I just want some clear skies now. All this hail & sleety rubbish is doing is making it wet and holding the temperature up.

Oh I hope so, the BBC forecast looks hopeful, we'll have to wait and see as normal!

Sleety wet snow showers on and off this morning gave a temporary cover, but the sun this afternoon melted it away. Recent shower was more like rain.. not sure why.. I'm confident when more organised band arrive through the night a more generous cover will develop. Fells looked resplendent before dusk in thick snow.

is that not heading southeast.

Yes, but it doesn't matter where it's heading. It's the positioning that's interesting.

The fact it's SAT in the Irish Sea with sub -5/-6 850HpA profiles, it's a recipe for a snowfest.

I know, it's a joke! If we come out of this spell without any settling snow, I'll be so angry.
