Exactly! Overnight snow just isn't the same, unless it's a massive fall of course.

Still coming down strong here, everything white. Wasn't expecting this at all.

There you go, Fozzy! Delighted for you!

More showers developing to the NW of Manchester and a second band currently from Lancashire to NE Yorkshire. All this is heading SE so more to look forward to possibly. This current band of snow is moving off to my south now, although still moderate snow falling.

Northampton really is dire.  everyone seems to have had at least something this year, but here we haven't seen anything for over 2 years now.  pathetic.

Stopping here now  after having left about 1.5cms of covering on everything.

Temperature now stuck at 0.8C.

Havn't looked at radar but must be good news that people to the northwest are reporting snow still..

This the second time that we have had snow from a straight south west to west airflow.

I cannot remember it happening here in the MIdlands before, never mind twice in a two weeks period.

People moaning should be aware how lucky we've been in the midlands this year to see any snow.

I think looking back at records the winter of 1912 must have been similar, with huge snowfalls in the Pennines and Scottish Mountains but not too much in the south.

Although to be fair, a couple years back every time it snowed in the midlands Northants copped for it

We have had about 1 hour in total of snow falling here this year but still awaiting lying snow for getting on for 2 years. your not the only ones, infact roughly my area and everyone south, south west and south east from here have had next to nothing, Hopefully the next week changes that
