Very heavy snow here now.

Phew! Thought it was going wrong there for a moment!

snow in the city looks wet though may improve when the heavier stuff comes through

That's what happened here -- the first wave was sleety, but once it got going it turned to all snow, and pretty heavy too. Not a whiteout or anything, but very satisfying. Good luck!

Just woken up, looked out of the window and no I'm not dreaming, not snizzle or sleet but real snow. Road and pavements already covered, think I may have to stay up for a while :-)

No way is Lincolnshire is part of the East Midlands region  :nonono:  but that's your view on things....Have a vote and lets see  :hi:

Yes it is. Same government region and same European MEPs. North Lincs is the Yorkshire and Humberside region (even though Humberside doesn't exist as as a county anymore - either returned to the East Riding of Yorks or unitary authorities of North Lincs (I.e. Sbad wordhorpe) and NE Lincs (I.e. Grimsby). So Lincoln is 16 miles from Newark, even Stamford which is 25 miles from here would technically fall under the Yorkshire and Lincolnshire thread. So what does the weather in Stamford have in common with the weather in NW Yorkshire when weather watching 150 miles apart?!

Come on! Can we actually keep this one as snow right through to the end?

You can do it!

It would be a novelty for this winter if we can achieve that.

I hate to say it, but here it's going just a bit wet and sleety as it gets lighter. That may just be a blip, but the NW precip-type radar does show sleet rather than snow from about where I am northwards now. Your extra altitude should help, though. :)
