Just woken up by the sound of dripping water to see everything covered in a thin slushly layer of rapidly melting snow ....  currently light sleety rain but looking at radar heavy snow shower passed over around 1.30am.

Health advice: Don't take those forecasts too literally.

A good covering it was good to see. Hey but guess what? it's now washed away and it's raining the story of this winter. met has yellow warning for parts of w.mids for today and tuesday for snow. Must say it hasn't been a bad winter for parts of the mids though. Places likes of Darby has done well then again it's notthing surprising there.

There is a slither of everso slightly milder air associated with this trough causing it to turn sleety in places.

Can't believe it- hammering down with rain. What on earth do we have to get this winter to get snow to stay. Every time it manages to stick we get mild muck and rain behind it, usually from the north. That looked like a classic Cheshire Gap snow setup earlier with no warm sector, what the hell is milder air doing in it?

We had sleet/rain up in Leeds, but it's now turned to heavy snow again. You'll probably get the same down there.

Yh its trying to turn as i write more snow mixed in now

Plus the BBC forecasters may as well take a week off because they haven't a clue loads on here and mod called this front last nite yet shifali didnt have s clue!
