It truly ends to me when we get either a) Lying snow that persists for at least 12 hours, including being present at 0900 b) An ice day c) A minimum below -10C d) 5 or more consecutive days reaching 20C or more, or 3 reaching 25C, with at least 8 hours sunshine on each.

None of those has happened since the summer of 2014. 2 winters and one summer, none of them. And they shouldn't be that hard to achieve, especially a) and d).

a, difficult nowadays m/e, d the easiest I would have thought

I think we had a bit of snow here last night woke up to a covering on grass, cars, roof ect. Looking forward now to a bit of warmth next week now.

Just got up and no sign of there been any here. Did any settle? Maybe it was very localised and despite you been quite near it hit you and missed here?

Doubt you'll get anything else, looks like it's passing well east of Brum now, Leicester way. Looks like Stoke area got the best of it.

Oxford snow shield is on full power again today. Despite the radar showing that we should be having light sleet/snow, we have naff all.

A few light flurries here this morning but I shouldn't think there are many left on here who care anymore this winter.

Well...once again, this forum and particularly the Midlands thread has been the only shining light in yet another dark, shambolic and frankly awful winter. So thank you.

I'll see you all again either when the first thundery plume comes along or when the first homegrowns start bubbling up. Hopefully very soon!

It's always brilliant to be on here during Winter. The ups and downs of the models, the near misses, the joy when a snow event actually comes off! It's all great fun in the end, even if the last few Winters have been a disappointment.

Take it easy mate and see you again soon.

Yep very disappointing winter again, 3 years now where I've seen no more than a covering of snow. Don't recall ever seeing such a poor run of snowy returns in my lifetime. Let's hope 2016-17 is better.

Had a few flakes and a hail shower earlier about 12.15pm.

Really looking forward to those first thundery plumes now though. Cannot beat seeing natures power and fury as per the thunderstorms last 3rd July. So intense that really inspire a sense of awe and wonder. :)

It is worth following what may happen on Tuesday and Wednesday. Tuesday looks like it might bring a little sleet/snow in the morning as a weak band of ppn looks to cross our patch of the world.

Wednesday is more interesting as a secondary disturbance branches off a main low in the Atlantic and deepens towards the UK. Critically it has a southerly track and if it could go a little further south, we will remain on the cold side of the low and this could being a spell of heavy snow for a time. One to watch as it seems to be an event which could catch people out. Doubt it (why would our luck change now lol) but who knows!

Amazing heavy snow this morning (but wasn't online to report) lasted around 40 mins after sharp frost, kinda the wintriest day of the season

3rd day this march of falling snow, all in mornings, wed, fri and Sun, maybe flurries tomorrow morning, but that will be our last snow chance for a few months

as much as I loved the snow this morning, as I was out in it as well, still pleased to see Spring, especially we'll need a dry out after Wednesday's rain
