Copying this from the Yorkshire thread but here are some photos from the North York Moors area this afternoon. First 2 are just off the A19 near Thirsk, and the rest are Sutton Bank on the edge of the moors...

Snowing onto ungritted roads at CO10... This will be fun for drivers  tomorrow.

We're the highest point in Suffolk (hence the name of the prison - or as my late mother said "rather more a low point" :nonono:).

Heavy snow shower here in Preston, the first snow for me since 2010! stopped now but good signs that if I can get some falling its cold enough pretty much everywhere else :)

Just a few light snow flurries around Coulsdon and Merstham this morning (7:30). Nice to see some snowflakes this winter.

Around 0.5cm of snow lying at my house this morning, probably almost exclusively from a shower that hit around 11pm last night. Patchy though as only 3-4 miles down the road there was virtually nothing. That's my second best accumulation of this 'winter'.

I have changed the thread title to accommodate, and given the lack of posts for February, it doesn't really warrant a separate thread.

Just started snowing here, from previously sleety rain.  :)

:( it has now stopped.  But the hills around the valley are white.

Same here in Keighley. It has been snowing for about half an hour and there is a little covering on the grass and plants and a covering of slush on the roads. I suspect it's more exciting higher up, but I'm not going out in the car to investigate!

woohoo!  Proper whiteout horizontal snow, but not settling, but don't care.

Just had a brief flurry of big fat snow flakes in Uckfield. 5 minutes worth maybe, already stopped. Was coming in horizontal for a bit. Nothing settled other than what got plastered to the side of the car.

Edit: and within a very short time frame we now have sun breaking through the cloud cover. Talk about a tease!

Wet snow here for around 1/4 of an hour, which has now transitioned to a lighter wet snow and sleet mix.

    More again now.

EDIT:  Make that drier snow which is laying on the grass.

Melted now, but it was definitely a dusting.

Had it all today. Brief morning snow was followed by some sunny patches, then a very brief (and light) flutter of hail around lunch time, followed by a brilliant blue-sky sunshine early afternoon, and just now a big dirty cloud passed over dumping some relatively heavy rain (which is now giving way to sunshine again after just 10-15 minutes of being really, really dull).

Currently snowing here in Dudley after heavy winds and rain all night. The snow is relatively heavy with big flakes. It's even sticking despite the fact the ground is sopping! My car is covered!
